Heavy Timber Trusses
SWC’s business centers around the supply of custom Heavy Timber Trusses. All trusses are Decorative in order to achieve the hand crafted, exposed beam appearance our customers are seeking. The design of the particular building or structure in which the Heavy Timber Truss is installed will determine whether or not the truss is also Structural. SWC fabricates Heavy Timber Trusses in an assortment of standard or custom geometries using wood beams joined with the customer’s preferred connection method. more info >
Loose Timbers, Tongue & Groove Decking
SWC supplies solid Loose Timbers in any of the species, sizes and surface finishes discussed in the Heavy Timber Truss section. Similarly, we also supply Glulams (glue laminated) beams for the same applications as solid timbers. Loose Timbers or glulams are often supplied with truss orders. Examples include support beams for trusses, ridge beams, and other architectural timbers. Architectural timbers may be in the form of purlins, ceiling beams, door frames, lintels, columns and similar members. When timber trusses or loose beams are utilized in a building, plans frequently specify Tongue & Groove decking as ceiling material. Decking supply is closely related to the loose components above, and SWC can source most standard decking for packaging with timber trusses and beams. more info >
Custom Steel Fabrications
With a fulltime CAD designer, certified welder and computer-controlled plasma cutter, SWC is capable of designing and fabricating a large variety of custom-made steel fabrications for joining timbers. This includes truss mounting and connection hardware as well as fabrications for other timber joinery applications such as column bases, angle brackets, beam saddles, steel logo pieces, ornamental shapes (stars, etc) and other wood-to-wood or wood-to-steel connection hardware. more info >
Wood Accent Pieces
Buildings with Heavy Timber Trusses and Loose Timbers often contain other decorative accent pieces such as Corbels, Rafter Tails, Wooden Brackets and similar components. SWC’s shop is fully capable of fabricating these components according to any of our established designs or to the customer’s specific requirements. Mantels
Heavy timbers are desirable materials for fireplace mantels in many homes or non-residential buildings enhanced with Heavy Timber Trusses or other components. Timber Mantels often complete the “heavy timber” look. SWC provides Mantels fabricated from any of the materials mentioned in the Heavy Timber Truss section as well as other materials such as Reclaimed Timber or Ashe Juniper (Texas Cedar). more info >
Industrial Shipping Cradles
Because SWC is in the business of procuring and cutting heavy timbers, drilling deep holes with auger bits, fabricating steel connection hardware and bolting these components together with large fasteners, we are ideally positioned to fabricate custom, industrial shipping or storage cradles for heavy industrial equipment. more info >
