Because SWC is in the business of procuring and cutting heavy timbers, drilling deep holes with auger bits, fabricating steel connection hardware and bolting these components together with large fasteners, we are ideally positioned to fabricate custom, industrial shipping or storage cradles for heavy industrial equipment. We have supplied heavy duty wood cradles to a number of customers in the past.
Cradles can be fabricated from Southern Yellow Pine normally available at our shop, or from hardwoods sourced in the local area. Timbers used for cradle fabrication can be kiln-dried to international shipping specifications if required. Depending on the load to be supported and other customer design requirements, timbers can be tied together with any combination of metal straps, all-thread bolting, conventional hex bolts, and lag screws. Hardware can be painted or galvanized. Threaded or welded lifting eyes may be added if needed. Any radius or other profile can be cut in the timbers to accommodate various pipe, pressure vessel or equipment shapes.
Request a quote with your specific requirements and we would be pleased to provide price and lead time for your industrial shipping cradle requirements.
